T.L. Robertson Library

This is the T.L. Robertson library. It's location is very strategic because it's in the middle of the university. It really helped a lot in my sense of direction when I first came here. Thank God also that most of my classrooms next semester will be in the library building. So, I need not walk here and there. There are one cafeteria(Bookmark cafe) and some lecture theatres in the building outside the library. Library lounge, the only place where you can eat in the library, is on the ground floor which starts at level 2. Curtin University is built on few platforms. That's why you can see some of the building starts at level 1 or 2 or even 3. There is one floor which is full with computers and some magazines with sofas to relax. There are also computers at every levels, and some of the computers can only used for the library catalogue(to find library books). There are five floors in the library with three lifts and few stairs. In level six, there are few computer rooms again and one internet room where students can bring their own laptop and just plug in to the wire and can access to the internet. Printing machine and photocopiers are available at every floor, together with the printing and photocopy card reload.

Another view of library.

The library ground floor(second floor). Do you the self-borrowing machine? You just need to show the laser your student ID code and the book code. It's touch screen also to print the receipt of the borrowed books. Can use it to borrow as many books as you want. For degree, one person is allowed to borrow 20 books.

Books.

Rows of books.

Journals

Shelves of Journals.

Lots of rows of journals and books. So, to save space, the journals are packed together on a rail. If you need certain row, just turn the sterring over and it will pull apart so that you can go in and find the journal you need.

One of the area for students to study and do their homework. All the doors are access to the study rooms.

One of the printing station in one of the computer room in level 6.

The quiet zone in the library. Basically most of the library areas are quiet zone.

There are silent zones too in the library. No talking or discussing allowed.
